Ephraim Samson

He studied Fine Arts at the University of Santo Tomas. Illustrated comic strips in 1965 under Nester Redondo and Alfredo Alcala. He worked as a cinema cartel artist in 1966. He started to paint seriously in 1970. A pioneering member of the Saturday Group. Midweek Group, and First Friday Group (members consist of Cesar Legaspi, Manansala, Malang, Ang Kiukok, Joya Olazo, and H.R. Ocampo). He is also a member of the Stockton Art League, Northern California Water Color Group, Plain Air Artists of Sacramento, and American Water Color Society. He has done numerous one-person shows and group exhibitions here and abroad. He is well-known for his portraits and very realistic rendering in the watercolor medium. He ranks among the country’s best as a watercolorist. Most of his portraits and big paintings are done in oil paint medium that gained widespread acceptance among private and corporate collectors. He is currently mastering the acrylic medium, painting thread like layers of colors and textures into a new type of impression.
