A true outstanding son of Bulacan who hails from the town of Hagonoy whose best-known works are old Philippine Churches. He was a graduate of Fine Arts at the University of Santo Tomas in 1986, and he also studied in the School of Visual Arts in New York, USA. Al’s style reminds us of the American artist Andrew Wyeth, with his details and color schemes. His quiet natured friendship and charisma have brought him close to almost everyone interested in art. A well-traveled artist, Al toured and showed his works in most of the principal cities in the world such as New York, Chicago, Honolulu, Tokyo, Seoul, Germany, Amsterdam, Middle East, and the Vatican in Italy and was able to meet the Pope twice, here in Manila and Rome respectively. He is a former president of Lakan Sining ng Bulacan and one of the Board Members of the Tuesday Group Artists.
He is listed in the Who’s Who in International Art which is a book published in Lausanne, Switzerland. Al’s new works are combination of churches and other subjects in a collage approach done in acrylic. His vibrant colors and compositions prove his versatility as an artist. He also does nude paintings and Mother and Child Subjects.
